Patient Care Coordinator: Candidate must have customer service experience. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a veterinary clinic.

Job description:

The Patient Care Coordinator (PCC) is the initial point of contact for referring veterinary clinics and clients wishing to schedule rehabilitation appointments. While you will get to interact with our amazing dog and cat patients, the PCC is truly someone who must be a “people person.” The PCC is expected to develop strong relationships with clients and referring clinics in order to facilitate efficient scheduling. The PCC will develop a thorough understanding of the treatment options provided by SOUND and Animal Surgical.

Full Time Rehabilitation Technician.  The ideal candidate will be a CCRA/CCRVN/CCRP, or be actively enrolled in a formal training program (CRI or U of T).  However, we will financially support certification for the right person.

Job description:

The ideal candidate will have experience working in physical rehabilitation, neurology and/or surgery. All candidates must hold a current LVT license in Washington, or be licensed in another state and eligible in Washington.  The ideal candidate will be a CCRP/CCRA/CCRVN or be actively enrolled in a formal training program; though, an exception may be made for the right candidate, in which case, we would financially support you obtaining certification.

Technicians work under the guidance of our rehabilitation veterinarians to design and implement rehab plans utilizing modalities such as underwater treadmill (we have 3!), e-stim, therapeutic laser (we have 3!), therapeutic ultrasound, PEMF and cryotherapy. We have a large gym for land exercises and a dedicated area for manual therapy. We also offer acupuncture and herbal medicine, advanced diagnostics such as musculoskeletal ultrasound and arthroscopy, and perform regenerative medicine including stem cell therapy, platelet-rich plasma, and shockwave therapy.

This is a part-time or full-time position that includes working Fridays and Saturdays (3-4-day work week).

Rehabilitation/ Sports Medicine Veterinarian:

Open positions include (one of the following will be filled):

  • Board certified in Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation (DACVSMR)
  • Eligible to take DACVSMR boards (currently enrolled in PE pathway residency or have completed traditional residency)
  • Rehabilitaton Veterinarian (CCRT/CCRP), experience required

Job Description:

The ideal candidate will have experience working in physical rehabilitation and/ or work-up and management of orthopedic conditions. The surgeons in our practice place extremely high value on our rehabilitation veterinarians. We are specifically in search of someone who enjoys the non-surgical side of orthopedic medicine and can work closely with the surgical team to ensure appropriate case management (surgery vs. rehab). 

All candidates must hold a current veterinary license in Washington, or be licensed in another state and eligible in Washington.

Job Duties Include:

  • New patient evaluations—thorough orthopedic, neurologic and rehabilitation evaluation; development of therapeutic goals and treatment plan. New patient evaluations are scheduled for 1.5 hours.
  • Client education—we pride ourselves on providing exceptional. education for clients; a large portion of the consultation is dedicated to helping clients understand their pet’s condition, additional diagnostics needed, treatment recommendations, expectations and prognosis, financial expectations, and plan for reassessment.
  • Diagnostic work-up—many of our patients require additional diagnostic imaging in order to establish a diagnosis and treatment plan. The rehabilitation veterinarian is expected to choose and facilitate imaging modalities such as: radiographs (on site), CT (on site), musculoskeletal ultrasound (radiologist scheduled to come on site weekly), and MRI (off-site).
  • Development of customized treatment plans—Each patient and client should have a plan designed specifically for the individual pet’s needs and clients’ ability to carry out the plan (financially, physically, geographically).
  • Facilitate referral for surgical consultation, if indicated.
  • Recheck evaluations—patient re-evaluations should be performed on a regular basis to evaluate progression through treatment plans and achievement of therapeutic goals.
  • Perform therapeutic techniques such as intra-articular injections and extracorporeal shock wave therapy. These procedures will require the veterinarian to oversee sedation and anesthesia.
  • Work closely with and communicate openly with rehabilitation technicians and assistants regarding treatment plans, including UWTM, modalities and gym exercises.

Additional Information:

This is a full-time position (4 days/ week).
